Whenever I play 2 truths and a lie with people, I can always count on this truth to throw them off...

I lived on a Hutterite Colony for 4 years! Yep, it's the truth. My Dad was a teacher and taught at a Colony in Saskatchewan.
Now, just to clarify: No - I am not a Hutterite.
Yes - They make the BEST homemade goods ever to be imagined!!
Yes - They make practically anything and everything from scratch.
Yes - If there ever was a tragedy, they would survive quite comfortably and we would be crawling to them for help.

Okay, that being said. First, now you know one of my Truth's.
Second, My Dad and Mom are retiring this summer!!

Our family came down to Leader, SK for the weekend to help finish off their house renovations, in preparations for selling.

Mike and Nath did an awesome job!! I'll post pic's once I figure out how to re size these puppies..


Here's the whole fam, altogether for one last time at our home. Lot's of great memories here!!! I lived here 13 years! It's a bitter, sweet feeling having my parent's move. Sad to leave such an awesome community, great house with memories... Happy to have them living closer with more free time!!

"Oh Balls"

I don't mean the "Oh Balls" that Alex wrote on my sidewalk in chalk either... Thanks for that by the way. Just had to be the day my in-laws come over for a visit too! haha
I'm talking about "Bucky Balls!" Nath, just bought some on e-bay... These tiny magnetic balls are surprisingly addictive. Check out my creation! It took an hour... I had no idea, you could get so focused and sucked in!

Best Frienemy's!

Alex and Joe watched Avery while I had a Dr.'s appointment. I'm so lucky to have such great friends and neighbors! I know she has a good time, when she doesn't want to come home with me. Which is almost always when she's playing with Natalie!

That Rocks!

We have gotten all sorts of great deals, and sold things on Kijiji. From musical instruments to wheel barrels. It's almost a weird rush when you score a great deal... However, this has got to be THE BEST one yet! I got 50$ for.... wait for it.... a ROCK! hahaha... Seriously. It was this large rock I wanted out of my flower bed, and almost as a joke I put it on Kijiji for Free. Strangely, I received several interested e-mails. Particularly one from this lady who was ecstatic about having this rock. She offered me 50$ for a "Free Rock" if I could deliver it! She basically lived 2 mins away... So Mike and Joe delivered it... and got 50$ for a free rock. Haha.... I would pay someone to take it off my hands.

Sunny Saturday with Sar!

Such a beautiful Saturday! Mike's out of town until the afternoon, so Sar came over to help me with a bit of yard work. She broke all the slate that I needed to outline the flowerbed, and showed Avery how to pick dandelions! They picked ALL of the dandelions in the backyard!! It's never to early to teach Avery to help out! Maybe next week she'll mow the lawn...

Kitty treat.

Let's be honest, I'm not really the biggest cat fan. When I say really, I mean... not at all.
So you can imagine my thoughts, when I wake up to this little gift on the side of my house. Compliments of our neighbors cat.

Cat -1 Shanks - 0

Seriously...I don't usually get grossed out easily...But for some reason this made me a bit queezy!
Just the thought of Avery finding this treat before me, made me cringe.
So I did what any non-cat lover, protective Mom would do...
I scooped up this filthy treat, with a shovel... Then tossed it in my neighbors backyard...Oops.

Good thing I didn't see the cat while I had the shovel... Although, the thought of the owner walking in the backyard in her bare feet made me smile...

Smart phone

Careful when Avery plays with your phone. She's smarter that you think! She could be racking up some serious long distance to China. Here's her call history in the past 5 mins... She managed to leave everyone here a reaaaally long boring message. Your welcome everyone.
So, if you get pocket called by Mike or me... now you know who it really is!

So, I come home from church to see a banner, a card and beautiful bright vibrant flowers! Aww, thanks Mike!
Oh, and yesterday I got the best Mother's day gift!! (Mike couldn't keep it a surprise, he was so excited. I got it a day early!) ......Drum Sound Off's!!! I can now practice when Avery is sleeping!! Or maybe I'm that bad, that's Mike's polite way of not hearing me... meh, I can take a hint. Either way, good gift Mike I love it!



Oh, how nice Avery helped you make cupcakes! That's precious... Nope. I wish I could hide behind my daughter for these cupcakes. I'll claim it tho. I made these gems ALL by myself! No help. Cooking & baking is not exactly where I shine. But, the good thing is it can only get better from here!
