First Christmas!

Our first Christmas together!! We were lucky to spend time with both sides of our family. Wow did we get spoiled too! Guess we are easy targets since recently being married and still needing or maybe wanting a few things... ;)

Best day of my life!

Well... a close tie to our wedding day of course.
My last day of work at.... well It would be unprofessional to say the company name. It rhymes with Bun Wife Minancial...
Thanks to Mike's suggestion of me quitting, I put my 2 weeks notice in!! The loooooongest 2 weeks of my life! Although I had SO many great times, memories, wonderful work experiences, numerous surveys and made life long friends! I will not miss this job.

SHOPPING!!

We met up with my parent's in Great Falls to do some Christmas shopping! Did I mention we drove the Skyline and beat my parent's to Lethbridge? They may or may not have left 1 hour before us... Bon Temps.

Our newest roommates...

So, we live in a cute basement suite. The basement is pretty retro, I'm sure it was a real hit in the 70's... lot's of browns. Anyways! We always keep it clean. Just remember that. CLEAN!
Well, lately I've been waking up to flapping, scattering noises in the ceiling. Eeeyuck! We thought it was maybe a bat or bird caught up there. But we ignored it, until it persisted. One day we used tennis rackets to try and trap or hit whatever was up there...didn't work. So we set out a ton of mouse traps in the ceiling. That evening I was napping on the couch and woke up to a CRACK....then another CRACK. 2 traps went off. Gross. Check out the video of our little friend or I should say friends...

We ended up catching 3 total in the end... Buh bye.

Mike's Birthday 08

MIKE'S BIRTHDAY!! November 16th, same birthday as my brother Nath! We went to Medicine Hat with Linda to celebrate. We played games, hottubbed, open presents... aaaaaaand let's not forget the fire extinguisher... My family is all about scaring people. Enough said. We are working on a video of all the victims! Stay tuned...

We are DINKS!

Duel income no kids.... Yep. So why not buy a new couch?.... Why not have Megan lift it through all the many tight, jammed, narrow basement doors instead of me?... Why not?

Lyd's Birthday 08

November 5th, It's just another day... but for the past 4 years I've taken the day off work! Slept in, got a massage, went to the temple, spent time with family or friends. What a great day! Well I guess any day that I'm NOT working, getting a massage, at the temple... and hanging out with great people is always the BEST DAY!!
I came home from the temple to see our basement suite decorated with these tacky green Happy 50th streamers from Mike... Glad we share the same sense of humor, guess I don't need to buy decorations for his birthday ;)

Halloween 08

Always a good time when it involves getting dressed up! Definitely one of my favorite times of year!!! One of my BFF's Cody and I borrowed outfits and were cheerleaders for our work at SunLife Financial. Something about Halloween sure limits your productivity at work... I don't think we got a single thing done that day with all of our "breaks" to do a cheer!

Mike managed to put together a male cheerleading outfit as well! Oww oww! We then went to a basketball game at the U of L with some friends...they can ALWAYS use more cheerleaders in the stands!

Since we didn't really make any plans for Halloween...AND really really love dances...we crashed the YSA dance just for 1 last time!! Ah well.. It was fun, that's all that matters! :)

We saw this in the ditch on our way home from our honeymoon in Banff... Could this be a sign?.... :)

Honeymoon

Banff for our honeymoon! Love this place! The weather was chilly, snowy... and cozy! We went on a short hike, did some site seeing, went to the theater, enjoyed the pool and hot tub at our hotel, and treated ourselves to shopping! Too fun! We each got lululemon jackets and pants! Already we are married and buying matching clothes... greeeeat! haha

Wedding slideshow

Here is our Wedding Slideshow... Enjoy!

(I'm still trying to figure out how to post this...stay tuned!)

WE GOT MARRIED!!!

Thanks to my roommate Megan...who's also Mikes cousin. We were 1st introduced in February! Started dating in April, engaged in May... and married October! We hit it off right away, it was almost scary.

Our families and friends all came together to have a decorating party the day before. We decorated it with a tropical theme: lit palm trees, shells, sand etc... What a blast! We played music, ordered pizza, danced, watched our slideshow...and everyone wore the shirts that we specially made for them!

Oct 18, 2008 turned out to be an beautiful day! Considering, the day before was borderline tornado wind! Jeannie did my make-up, and one of my BFF's Linda did my hair. Our whole family fit into Nath's Limo, and all the other close family friend's carpooled together. We drove to Cardston in style! Singing and dancing to the mix cd's that Sar made for the trip!

The Temple was perfect. We were honored to have Mike's Grandfather perform the Wedding Ceremony.

Next the numerous pictures and poses! Thanks to Warren for the excellent pictures! It's extremely difficult to choose a handful of favorites!!

Our immediate family with Grandparents then celebrated a banquet at Ric's Grill in Lethbridge. A watertower converted into a restaurant...what a unique place for a wedding dinner! After our banquet we had a calling reception. There were appetizers, finger foods, a chocolate fountain, and Lorna Kyle did an amazing job on our tropical cake!! Oh, and of course don't forget the video booth where everyone left a personal message!! Too fun. I still watch some of these to get a good laugh. Our slideshow played continuously in the background, until the dance began. What a GREAT time! We have such great family and friends! It really was a party and a celebration!
