Da Girlz

Last night we went to the theater and watched the movie "Horrible Bosses."
I will not do a movie review... but there were a bunch of funny parts and we enjoyed it!
Thanks Joanne for always being so willing to watch Avery, and doing the best job of it!! Best Mom and Grandma!

Today Mike was busy doing a job. Soooooo, Avery and I had a girls day!
It was SO hot.... hot enough for some Ice-cream!! There's this Ice-cream store close to us called My Favorite Ice-Cream, and we finally got a chance to go try it out!

Mmmmm It was yummy!

We then went to a nearby park with Sar!

Of course, the alphabet was more interesting than the slides! :)

Maybe next time Mike can join us for Ice-cream!
Either way... with or without Mike, I'm already looking forward to going back!

Lazy or Smart?

Today we got our first order from spud.ca

Really, this idea has been around for years! But, we just discovered it in Calgary!

Great - To save a trip to the grocery store with a toddler.
Great - To order food from the convenience of your home in your PJ's.
Great - To get organic food!!

Not So Great - Some items are a bit pricey.

Yee haw!!

Ah... the smell of Stampede!!
Deep fried foods, mini donuts, allergies from the horses...
Yes, it's finally that time of year again!

CALGARY STAMPEDE!!!

Not sure what was more enjoyable... The Chuck wagon races, Grandstand show, stampede snacks, people watching, or the carnival games...

Mikes 2nd maybe 3rd corn dog of the evening...

Yard - Before - After!

As the snow melted this spring... Our place looked more and more like the remnants of a war zone. The carnage in our backyard was a little overwhelming. So far in the lawn and flowerbed we have found: A bike chain, socks, spoon, fork, rollerblade wheel, chip bags, razor blade, bob the builder man, A LOT of marbles, screw driver, half a shirt, more razor blades, newspapers, slurpie cups (probably from Joe).

Hopefully we are at the end of finding these little treasures. Our goal this summer is to clean up our place!

So far it's going good! Here's a couple before and after pix! (Okay for now just the after pix, the before will be added later!)

It feels a bit like an episode of Extreme Home Makeover. Minus the short shirted Ty Pennington, and minus a sick family member. Or minus our family doing something amazing and volunteer related to the community. Other than that, the comparison is impeccable.

Sick of being sick.

The next week, Avery was very sick with a high fever of 103 degrees fahrenheit. Poor girl. We took her to the Children's Hospital and were quickly helped. All the staff there were extremely helpful, and friendly! After a couple hours, a drugged up Avery and some advice we went home. It was not determined what she had, and were told to return in 2 days if she didn't improve. After 2 days, there was no improvement, so I took her to the family Doctor. Which suggested Avery had Roseola. Sure enough, a day later her fever lowered and a rash broke out all over her body.
Not sure what Roseola is? Don't be embarrassed I had to Google it myself!
At the end of the week at least I learned something new, and Avery got some souvenir hospital PJ's!

Week Off!!

What we actually ended up doing on Mike's week off!!

We went to a Spray park with Alex & Natalie! Finished building our second patio, and got our Family pictures taken! http://everglowphoto.blogspot.com/ Thanks Arianne!!
Then a trip to Medicine Hat on Canada Day weekend for my parents retirement party!

It was SO busy here!

Eating their snack! These girls are just too cute!

My parents retirement party/Canada Day weekend! We watched a couple slideshows and tributes in honor of my parents.

The delicious crepe Nath made me!! Best brother ever!

Mike rode Nath's bike as much as possible this weekend. Volunteering to get snacks for anyone at anytime. How convenient... :)
