Wheelchair Basketball!

The saying "Walk a mile in someone's shoes"... became a reality tonight. Although we weren't walking...

Nath & I have a friend "Jazzy" that was in a car accident, and now in a wheelchair. What an incredible story. He's SO positive, funny & animated. He invited us to a drop-in wheelchair basketball that he oversees at MRU.
Everyone was so friendly. There was probably 20 people in wheelchairs and about 10 people actually requiring a wheelchair. I played basketball when I was in High School... yes shocking I'm not exactly 5'9 Cat Deeley. So I figured this would be a breeze to catch on to...It took some effort trying to orientate operating a sport wheelchair. It definitely is a different world. I found the most simplistic tasks that I took for granted, now difficult. I was the weakest link on our team! With fully functioning legs, I was out of my world and far surpassed by experts with less mobility.

It was enlightening to experience a new perspective on life.
Plus it was such a BLAST!!!

February Flying!

We went to Medicine Hat for a Philippines night hosted by Mike and my Dad! They both served a mission in the Philippines and were more than happy to share pictures and stories. We made food that Mike ate in the Philippines: Biko and Bikol Express. It's amazing to compare pictures 30 years later... the Philippines really hasn't changed much.

Nath, then took Mike flying!!! My brother is a pilot, and YES ladies he's still single. Vin Diesel lookalike, with brains and humor. Need I say more?

First Christmas!

Our first Christmas together!! We were lucky to spend time with both sides of our family. Wow did we get spoiled too! Guess we are easy targets since recently being married and still needing or maybe wanting a few things... ;)

Best day of my life!

Well... a close tie to our wedding day of course.

My last day of work at.... well It would be unprofessional to say the company name. It rhymes with Bun Wife Minancial...

Thanks to Mike's suggestion of me quitting, I put my 2 weeks notice in!! The loooooongest 2 weeks of my life! Although I had SO many great times, memories, wonderful work experiences, numerous surveys and made life long friends! I will not miss this job.
